 LOCATION AND TRAVEL
Haus Bellevue is located in the high Lungau Valley and can be found between Radstadt, Tauern and Katschberg, roughly 100km south of Salzburg.
Considered as one of the most attractive holiday destinations in Austria, the Lungau is easily accessible and well connected from all directions by both Motorway and a well maintained network of Mountain Roads

VIGNETTE
If you are driving from outside of Austria and intend to use the Autobahn (Motorway) network be sure to pick up a "Vignette" (Austrian Road Tax) for your car and stick it to your windscreen. These
can be purchased from most motorway services and cost roughly
8 Euros for 10 days. Cars
hired from within Austria usually supply a Vignette automatically but it is worth checking before leaving. More information can be found in the Driving in Austria pages of this website.
WORTH KNOWING...
In addition to the Vignette, traveling on an Autobahn usually means there will be a toll to pay at some point along your journey. As you enter St Michael from the Motorway as described below, there is a toll of €5,00 to pay. This fee must be paid every time that a vehicle enters or leaves the town by means of this Autobahn exit. If you want to avoid the toll, choose one of the B-Roads bringing
you either over Katschberg from the South or over Obertauern. These routes take a little longer but are well worth it for the scenery. Please be aware however, that icy and unfavourable driving conditions are commonplace on these roads during the high winter months.
DIRECTIONS
Sankt Michael is located directly off the main A10 Tauern Autobahn that runs from Salzburg to Villach, making it very easy to find from any direction, even without a GPS device (although it is still worthwhile having a map with you!).

From the North (Salzburg)
For the most direct route follow the A10 heading South from Salzburg towards Graz/Villach. Travel through the Tauern Tunnel and exit just before the next main toll, exit number 104 Sankt Michael, road designation B96. The road will loop around and down towards the town from the West. Unfortunately you will not completely miss the toll charge as there is a booth just before you enter the town limits just
a few minutes after you turn off
the motorway - the toll is €5.00 and it is advisable to have the correct change ready. Follow
the road towards Sankt Michael keeping eyes left for the Lagerhaus. Take the left exit directly as you reach the Lagerhaus, the signpost will read "Wiedenerweg" and from this turning travel uphill a short way. When you reach a Y crossing in the road keep right and we will be the first house on the left. If you continue up the path a little way you will see our guests car park on your left. Traffic allowing this route should take approximately 1hr 10 minutes from Salzburg.

or.....
If you prefer a more scenic route follow the A10 South towards Graz/Villach until you reach Alternmarkt. Take exit 63 direction Alternmarkt and merge with the E651 towards Graz/B99. Continue along the B99 and this will take you south, south east through Obertauern and on to Mauterndorf. From there follow the signs for Sankt Michael. From this direction you will enter the town from
the east and need to
continue west past the town centre until you see signs for "Wieden". Keep your eyes right for the Lagerhaus. Take the turning directly at the Lagerhaus to the right, the signpost will read "Wiedenerweg" and from this turning travel uphill a short way. When you reach a Y crossing in the road keep right and we will be the first house on the left. If you continue up the path a little way you will see our guests car park on your left. Traffic allowing this route
should take approximately 1hr 30 minutes from Salzburg.

From the South (Klagenfurt/Villach)
From Klagenfurt head West on A2 Süd Autobahn/E66 in the direction of Villach. After around 30km follow the E66 heading North-West in the direction of A10 Villach. Continue on the A10 Tauern Autobahn for around 80km. Take the exit number 104-St Michael im Lungau/B96. The road will loop around and down towards the town from the West. From the North East (Vienna)
From Vienna head Southwest on the S6 Autobahn (toll road) in the direction of "Semmering". After around 150km the S6 will join the S36 know as the Murtal Schnellstraße. Follow the S35 toll road for about 60km to its end at which point continue in a westerly direction on the B96. Follow this road towards the Lungau valley. You will enter the valley from the direction
of Tamsweg heading towards St Michael (approx 15 km distance). Continue along the road until you see signs for St Michael. Traveling this direction you will enter the town from
the east and need to
continue west past the town centre until you see signs for Wieden. Keep your eyes right for the Lagerhaus. Take the turning directly at the Lagerhaus to the right, the signpost will read "Wiedenerweg" and from this turning travel uphill a short way. When you reach a Y crossing in the road keep right and we will be the first house on the left. If you continue up the path a little way you will see our guests car park on your left. Traffic allowing this route should take
between 3 and 4 hours from Vienna
